Picking Your Row on JetBlue's A321

The first call on this jet is simple: do you want the roomy front (rows 1–5, sold as premium economy at 37" of pitch) or the exit-row legroom deep in the standard economy cabin? Everything else — window views, lavatory noise, how fast you're off the plane — flows from that.

Seats Worth Booking

The two exit rows are the quiet stars here. Row 10 (10A–10F) earns a clean green rating across all six seats: exit-row legroom, seatback screens, and power at every place. Yes, the armrests are fixed and the tray lives in the armrest, so the seat runs a touch narrow, and there's no underseat stowage — but the stretch-out space more than pays for it. Row 23 is the second exit row: 23B, 23C, 23D and 23E are the picks, with the same legroom and none of the window compromise that hits the A and F seats there.

Up front, the premium economy rows give you real space at 37" pitch. Rows 2 through 5 are the ones I'd chase — a real seatback in front of you and no bulkhead penalty. One traveler in 3A raved about the service and legroom, which tracks.

Seats to Avoid

The back of the cabin is where comfort drops off. Row 34 sits against both a galley and a lavatory — 34A, 34B, 34C and 34D all rate bad, with noise, foot traffic, and compromised recline. Row 33 (33C, 33D) is nearly as compromised, parked right by the lav. A traveler in 32B flagged limited recline and lav proximity too, so the whole aft cluster is worth skipping if you value quiet.

Bulkhead row 1 is a mixed bag despite the premium label. 1A through 1F rate only yellow-green: a bulkhead in front, no underseat storage, fixed armrests, and a narrower seat. One flyer called 1B flatly "uncomfortable" and "narrow." Take a row further back in the same cabin instead.

Wildcards and Trade-offs

Row 23's window seats, 23A and 23F, carry exit-row legroom but a misaligned window — great for your knees, awkward if you want to lean and watch the wing. The over-wing stretch, rows 13 through 20, has restricted window views generally, so window lovers should sit ahead of 13. Note also that 9A, 9F, 22A and 22F don't exist on this layout, so don't hunt for them. And 34F, oddly, only rates yellow rather than bad despite the same galley-and-lav neighbors — the least-bad seat in a row you'd otherwise pass on.
