JetBlue A320: Picking Your Economy Seat
The whole game on this single-cabin A320 comes down to the two exit rows in the middle — row 11 is the one worth chasing, row 10 is the trap that looks identical on the map but won't recline. Everything else sorts itself around that fact: the front bulkhead has legroom but annoyances, the tail has a lavatory and a galley pressing in on both sides, and the seat cushions throughout the restyled cabin run firmer than most people expect.
Economy
The plane is a straightforward 3-3 layout, rows 1–25, with a roomy 34–39" pitch and 17.8" width. Seatback TVs, in-seat power, and Fly-Fi are standard, and the newer Collins-style seats add an adjustable headrest — though the cushioning is a recurring gripe. Multiple travelers in the extra-legroom seats complained the padding is stiff and the seat pan cuts off mid-thigh; one flier from LAX to Orlando in 11C nursed a backache the entire five hours, and another in 2E called the new firm seats "way too firm."
Best picks. Row 11 is the standout — 11B, 11C, 11D, and 11E all give you exit-row legroom, and because the seats ahead in row 10 don't recline, nobody drops into your lap. Best of all, row 11 itself still reclines, which the other exit row can't claim. A traveler in 11D described lucking into it; another in 11B or 11C would tell you the same, minus the padding. If you want a window with that legroom, 11A or 11F work, but they sit over the wing with a restricted view and may have a missing armrest and firmer cushion.
Row 10 (10A–10F) is the near-miss: real extra legroom, seat ahead doesn't recline — but neither does row 10, since the second exit is right behind it. A 5'5" flier in 10D still found the seat pan too short. Fine if you sleep upright, frustrating if you like to lean back.
Up front, 1A–1F get the bulkhead's extra legroom and no reclining seat ahead. The catch: no under-seat stowage, and the tray table lives in the armrest, which narrows the seat. One passenger paid $74 for row 1 expecting boarding perks and felt shortchanged, so buy it for the legroom, not the status.
Seats to avoid. Row 9 (9A–9F) is the worst value on the plane — it's directly ahead of an exit row, so it won't recline, yet you get none of the legroom payoff. 9A and 9F also sit over the wing. A traveler in 9B put it plainly: they've sat in better.
The back row, 25A–25F, is the other one to skip. Limited recline, plus a lavatory and galley immediately behind, meaning noise, foot traffic, and people queuing at your headrest. It deplanes dead last, too.
If view matters, remember the over-wing stretch (rows 8–15) blocks part of the window, so choosing an A or F seat there for scenery is a losing bet. For a clean window, aim forward of row 8 or back toward the low 20s — one flier in 23F liked having two windows to look through.

Seat 23F is relatively spacious and comfortable. It features two windows, with one between 23F and the seat in front and one slightly behind 23F. My only complaint is that the USB and outlet ports equipped under the seat did not work.
In the extra legroom area, the seat portion on the new seats are way too firm. All else is good.

My flight was changed and Jet Blue changed my aisle seat to a window seat. NOT HAPPY!

Plenty of leg room, but the seat stopped mid-thigh, very uncomfortable. I'm only 5'5", and spent a lot of the flight, pushing myself up into the seat. Have never had this problem, with any other extra legroom seat.
