Polar Airlines

Polar Airlines, known in Russian as Polyarnye Avialinii and using the codes PI and RKA, is a government-owned regional carrier based in Yakutsk in Russia's Sakha Republic, where it operates as a subsidiary of Yakutia Airlines. It concentrates on scheduled and charter passenger and cargo flights across the vast, remote Arctic communities of Yakutia, serving small northern settlements where other transport is scarce. Its fleet is built around rugged turboprops suited to short and unprepared runways, including the Antonov An-24 and the Let L-410, alongside other Antonov types and helicopters. The airline belongs to no global alliance.
