Horizon Air (IATA code QX) is a United States regional carrier headquartered in Seattle that flies exclusively as Alaska Airlines under a capacity purchase agreement with parent Alaska Air Group. Its main bases are Seattle-Tacoma and Portland, with further crew and maintenance bases in Boise, Spokane and Anchorage. The network is short-haul only, covering roughly 40 to 50 destinations across the Pacific Northwest, California, the Mountain West, Alaska and western Canada. Since the Bombardier Q400 turboprops were retired, the fleet consists entirely of Embraer E175 jets in a three-cabin, 76-seat layout. Horizon itself is not an alliance member.

Short, quick, to the point, but Lovely!

Everything, and I certainly mean EVERYTHING gets done, quickly and proficiently within this sub of the bigger airline, Alaska Airlines. I tend to take and use Horizon Air more frequently than ANY other airline, simply because I travel to and from seattle, pasco, and Portland at least a couple times a month if not more! I would rather fly than drive and thank god for the strong coffee served on flight during my morning flights because if not, I would most definitely be falling asleep during the short flights that im so used to. The staff inside the airport and in side of the Horizon air planes are always so happy, friendly, kind, helpful and courteous! They help everything go just as planned and always help resolve any issues that might arise (not very many if I might add! (:) I will most definitely continue to take and book my flights with and through Horizon Air as I still am in need of these very frequent short flights! I only wish that I could use Wifi on the small planes like I get
