Aserca Airlines

Aserca Airlines (IATA R7, ICAO OCA) was a Venezuelan carrier that flew scheduled domestic and regional services from its bases at Caracas Simón Bolívar International Airport and Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia, where it was headquartered. Beginning operations in 1992, it linked cities across Venezuela, including Porlamar on Margarita Island, and reached international points in the Caribbean such as Aruba, Curaçao and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Its later fleet was built around McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series jets, in MD-82, MD-83 and MD-87 variants, after earlier Douglas DC-9s were retired. The airline belonged to no global alliance and ceased operations in May 2018.
