Qantas First Class Lounge Los Angeles (LAX) Review

Full-featured first class lounge at LAX

The last two times I've been here have been on Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific first class flights over to Asia from LAX, which usually means a mid-morning entry into the lounge, so it's nice and quiet. I highly recommend a visit as there is plenty of space to spread out and all the usual amenities you'd expect in a first class lounge, though you won't find things like a spa etc...

How to get access this great lounge

Getting into this lounge either means a Qantas lounge membership, or traveling in a premium cabin on a Oneworld airline, some common options out of LAX being Qantas, British Airways, Japan Airlines, and Cathay Pacific. If you're on American you'll find yourself in a different terminal (terminal 4) and the very large Admirals Club over there.
What's awesome:
  • quite spacious with varied seating areas and a dining area/bar
  • pretty much anything you could want to eat or drink
  • probably the best first class lounge I've visited in TBIT
What's not:
  • though the lounge is large, I have been here when multiple flights are departing and it can feel crowded because there aren't really any separate rooms
  • for the crowd factor alone this lounge gets 4 stars, but I'm a tough audience after the likes of LH, SQ, and CX F lounges...

The Bottom Line:

This is a great lounge, and I prefer it to the Star Alliance first class lounge at LAX, as well as the Korean Air/SkyTeam lounge. I have yet to visit the Emirates lounge, though, so look for a review of that in the relatively near future.
